QDTrac- Ortec Integration

The Quest Diagnostics specimen tracking system (QDTrac) is designed to facilitate collection of specimens from Quest clients and follow the chain of custody through to the labs performing the processing. Mobile Device MC70 is used to track all the activities

The ORTEC solution for Quest will be comprised of multiple components within our solution platform.  The first component will be the ORTEC TRP solution for Tactical Route Planning to be run periodically throughout the business year (recommended 2-4 times a year, but at least once to account for address updates and account turnover).  The second component is the OSP solution for management of the master route, schedules produced within TRP, on a daily basis, Dispatch, and interactive management of communication with Quest's handheld devices (MC70) throughout the day. 

The project to integrate both the components to work together.

Responsibilities:

EQC project is development of a system similar to current SmarTech system on a web based platform to support multiple instruments and labs. The purpose behind developing EQC system is as follows:

•Develop Quality Control system similar to current SmarTech QC system (which is Mac based standalone quality system application developed 20+ years back and its technology platform is no longer being supported).

• Extend QC capabilities to Quest Diagnostics, Inc. 

•Centralize result evaluation rules making EQC as the system of record for rules.

•Rule based processing of real-time data which will enable the enterprise view of result evaluation functions, review and documentation of corrective actions

•Enhance the current QC capabilities with implementation of Westgard rules around QC as well as patient result evaluation.

•Build a system that can be extended to handle more instruments

Pyxis® Connect provides physicians and pharmacists with a computerized system to rapidly and effectively distribute physician orders. Physician orders, once filled out, are scanned on the hospital floor. The scanner converts the piece of paper into a digital image.

The image is then sent to a server on the network that is responsible for distributing the orders to pharmacists, wherever they may be on duty. Whether they are in the pharmacy, or stationed in a remote work area, the pharmacists will have immediate access to the appropriate scanned physician orders.
